President Joe Biden traveled to Israel on Wednesday, Oct. 18, to broadcast U.S. support for Israel and to facilitate an agreement to deliver urgent humanitarian aid to the besieged Gaza Strip via Egypt. Biden also moved U.S. military assets into the region to deter any party from escalating this conflict into a regional war, namely Iran and its proxies.

Straight Arrow News contributor Ben Weingarten argues that the Biden administration has actually empowered Hamas and Iran and that any humanitarian aid moving from Egypt into Gaza for the besieged civilians there will just be seized by Hamas fighters. He also implores the United States to stop dictating the terms of Israel’s military choices in Gaza.

As I argued, supporting Israel against Iran and its proxies is totally anathema to this administration. Its policy was exactly the opposite, enabling Hamas’s attack and undermining America’s national interest.

I’ve noted that the bear hug could be seen in the administration’s reflexive calls for a ceasefire; its defending the $6 billion ransom payment to Iran; and its attempt to delink Hamas’s attack from its Iranian backers.

The evidence has only grown since of a bear hug. Administration officials have emphasized their desire for a “proportionate” Israeli response to Hamas’s savagery. What is proportionate exactly to murders of the equivalent of 45,000 Americans — and the beheading, burning and butchering of innocents?

Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and others have conveyed to the Israelis that the U.S. will “find it difficult to support a military operation in Gaza that involves widespread harm to civilians” — this in an urban setting where Hamas has explicitly set up its infrastructure in hospitals, schools and other population centers to ensure maximum loss of life for propaganda purposes.

The Pentagon has also stressed that Israel “adhere to the law of war” — as if Israel wouldn’t, and its genocidal jihadist foes would.

The message is clear: You can fight Hamas, but once Hamas produces footage of dead non-combatants, we’re going to turn our back on you.

In last week’s commentary, I argued that a bear hug was afoot that the Biden administration would show nominal rhetorical, a diplomatic and military support for Israel to create the appearance of backing it while actually boxing it, preventing the Jewish state from vigorously defending itself following the worst attack since the Holocaust. As I argued, supporting Israel against Iran and its proxies is totally anathema to this administration. Its policy was exactly the opposite, enabling Hamas is attack and undermining America’s national interest. I’ve noted that the bear hug can be seen in the administration’s reflexive calls for a ceasefire. Its defending of the $6 billion ransom payment to Iran, and its attempts to de link Hamas is attack from its Iranian backers. The evidence has only grown since of a bearhug. Administration officials have emphasized their desire for a proportionate Israeli response to Hamas is savagery. What is proportionate exactly to murders of the equivalent of 45,000 Americans and the beheading, burning and butchering of innocents. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and others have conveyed to these rallies that the US will quote, find it difficult to support a military operation in Gaza that involves widespread harm to civilians. This in an urban setting where Hamas has explicitly set up its infrastructure in hospitals, schools and other population centers to ensure maximum loss of life for propaganda purposes. The Pentagon has also stressed that Israel adhere to the law of war is if Israel wouldn’t and as genocidal jihadist foes would. The message is clear you can fight Hamas but once a mosque produces footage of dead non combatants, we’re going to turn our back on you the administration’s half hearted effort to condemn and challenge the blood. Why bother the IDF had hit a hospital in Gaza, a softer message and came for example from other allies, as the Arab and Persian worlds grew inflamed, spoke volumes about how this will go now to Joe Biden’s visit to Israel. Prior to that visit, he publicly dictated to Israel its exit strategy by want to get not to occupy Gaza. He reportedly conditioned his visit on Israel’s permitting of the delivery of so called humanitarian aid to Gaza aid that will immediately be seized by and give comfort to Hamas. So Israel must resupply its enemy for the President to support her. Then he went even further committing $100 million and USA had been in effect rewarded Tomas for beheading babies, raping girls and taking Holocaust survivors hostage. Note that the President failed to apply American power to force Egypt, Qatar and other countries to take in Gaza and refugees the best form of actual aid, instead of keeping them under Hamas thumb as cannon fodder. While the messaging during the trip was about standing with Israel greenlighting its military operations as if that’s America’s prerogative. The administration went further in its meddling by indicating Biden would ask tough questions and probe and prod about Israel’s plans and objectives. As a friend as a true friend of Israel, a spokesman said columnist Carolyn Glick has reported that there is a straightjacket being imposed in terms of us restrictions on what weapons it will supply Israel and what Israel can target. Biden told Israelis quote, don’t be consumed by rage and fIying it with somehow blind Israel and lead it into mistakes like American made after 911 Seems pretty patronizing after the worst attack on Jews since the Holocaust. There was also an implicit or else message delivered prior to Biden’s trip. When Secretary of State Tony Blinken visited Israel. He made it a point to me with Israel’s opposition leader and a group of IDF reservists. pivotal to the Benjamin Netanyahu led government opposition that had destabilized Israel paving the way for Hamas is invasion. The Biden administration has long wanted Netanyahu toppled. So the pressure to do as Biden says is massive. Note that the visits to Israel delayed any ground invasion providing Hamas more time to prepare and the world more time to sharpen its knives against the Jewish state. Biden has otherwise in effect protected Iran and pre delegitimize the coming war, his administration and let lapse UN sanctions on Iran’s ballistic missile program, and on 84 individuals and entities were waiting to its nuclear and military programs, while Iran menaces with pre emptive action attacks. Reports indicate the Biden administration has made it known he does not want Israel to strike has bought first to adequately counter its proxy, meaning Israel might be showered with 10s of 1000s of rockets and missiles, suffering catastrophic damage before being allowed to strike as a two front war opens. But it has also indicated that moving us carriers into the Mediterranean was a bluff. He’s noted that the US would not get involved if Hezbollah strikes Israel. They have called that bluff with Iran’s proxies striking us and Israeli assets like throughout the region. But it’s emphasized that Hamas does not represent the Palestinian people, even though Gazans elected Hamas, and polls show overwhelming support there and across the Palestinian population for Hamas more broadly, by seeking to cleave the Palestinian Arabs who overwhelmingly support Hamas from Hamas, he’s fueling a false narrative aimed at further constraining and D legitimizing defensive Israeli military action that may lead to civilian deaths. Deaths brought about because of a masa savagery. He repeated this message in an address to America focusing on humanitarian aid, Islamophobia, a two state solution and again ensuring Israel fights with hands bound behind its back in response to Nazi scope and scale atrocities. As tablet rightly put it, quote, Israel for now appears to have judged that it can’t afford to reject Washington’s conditions, namely a narrow campaign against Hamas without the benefits of a full siege and with minimal collateral damage. These constraints are going to prove untenable, undermining Israel’s security and ours
