Hard-left judge in Trump’s NY fraud trial all out for himself

New York City Judge Arthur Engoron is currently presiding over a trial involving a $250 million lawsuit filed in 2022 by New York Attorney General Letitia James against former President Donald Trump. The lawsuit accuses Trump, two of his sons, their company, and other executives of years of widespread fraud.

During a recent appearance outside a New York City courtroom, the former president decried that the trial was “a sham,” referred to James as a “racist,” and labeled Judge Engoron as a “rogue judge.”

Straight Arrow News contributor Newt Gingrich shares Trump’s perspective, contending that Judge Engoron exhibits a clear left-wing bias, holds anti-Trump sentiments, and appears to prioritize his own interests over impartiality.

So this judge has already set himself up to have all of this thrown out, but he doesn’t care. He’s getting a ton of publicity in New York. He’s communicating to New Yorkers that he’s deeply anti-Trump. And in the Democratic Party of New York, as long as you’re deeply anti-Trump, it doesn’t matter that you’re cheating.

Very successful former U.S. prosecutor Andy McCarthy, who had prosecuted the original World Trade Center bombings, and is very, very respected, made the comment that this is not a trial, this is a political action. It has nothing to do with the law. The judge is behaving as a political actor, not as a judge, and the whole thing is a travesty and a violation of the rule of law.

Well, I think you’re gonna see more and more of that. When you watch what’s happening in New York, just keep that in mind. There were no victims. There were no complaints that Trump in any way changed valuations. Nobody’s walked in to say they were swindled. This judge decided that he would make a case based on his interpretation as an anti-Trump left-winger. It’s amazing, it’s un-American, and as you’re watching it, just remember, [if] they can do it to him, they can do it to you.
