While the pandemic disrupted schools nationwide, it also provided a new window into what is happening in the classroom. The fallout is on display as parents express concerns about curriculum, raising the question: are we spending money wisely on public education? The school debate is also playing out in the race for Governor in Virginia where one candidate delivered a strong message about whether parents should have a say in what their kids are learning. If these arguments continue, we may see more and more parents following the growing trend of pulling kids out of public school.
