DELTA AIRLINES IS THE LATEST TO ANNOUNCE THAT IT HAS SUSPENDED ALL FLIGHTS BETWEEN NEW YORK’S JFK AND TEL AVIV UNTIL THE END OF MARCH IN 2025. THE AIRLINE IS OFFERING TRAVEL WAIVERS FOR PASSENGERS WITH TICKETS BOOKED BEFORE THAT DATE. AMERICAN AIRLINES HAS ALSO CANCELED SERVICES TO ISRAEL UNTIL NEXT MARCH.
UNITED AIRLINES PAUSED FLIGHTS TO TEL AVIV INDEFINITELY, CITING THE “EVOLVING SECURITY ENVIRONMENT.” JOINING THE GROWING LIST OF CARRIERS PULLING OUT OF THE REGION, INCLUDING VIRGIN ATLANTIC FOR THE FORESEEABLE FUTURE.
THESE DECISIONS COME AS THE CONFLICT BETWEEN ISRAEL AND HAMAS EXPANDS INTO A REGIONAL CRISIS. THE U-S GOVERNMENT URGED ISRAEL TO ADDRESS THE HUMANITARIAN CRISIS IN GAZA, AS TENSIONS WITH NEIGHBORING COUNTRIES LIKE LEBANON AND IRAN CONTINUE TO RISE.
