Straight Arrow News contributor Star Parker says the Biden administration’s failure to come up with sound immigration policy is hurting America.
The Biden administration recently ended Title 42. People were telling him, “Please don’t do this.” It’s a critical policy that has helped protect our nation’s health and security. Flooding is going on down at our borders and with that in place, we were even able to control it a little bit. Enacted during the COVID-19 pandemic, Title 42 had allowed for the swift expulsion of individuals crossing our border illegally who pose a public health threat. Yeah, it was related to the pandemic, but there’s a lot of threat going on.
It provided the necessary tool to protect our communities, at least temporarily, some of it. The decision to end this policy is a clear example of putting policy … politics, over the safety and security of our nation. Yep, he puts politics in front of all other things for our country. That’s what the Biden administration is about, they have an agenda. And it’s our men and women that are on the front lines, already overworked, overwhelmed, who are now having to navigate through the resulting consequences.
We’ve all seen the pictures. It’s just crises. The Department of Homeland Security recently stated that they are confident in our men and women on the front lines. Well, with limited resources, infrastructure, limited manpower, are those on the front line confident in this administration? And then beyond those serving on our border, it’s the communities around our borders that are on the front lines. And they’ve been so long burdened with the weight of what’s been going on, begging, pleading, “Congress, do something. Biden, do something.” But liberals, they’ve been silent, and only seem to really care when the issue has reached cities such as Chicago and New York.
When you hear about the critical importance of securing our southern border, it’s important. It’s important to understand what it all entails. It’s important to understand the tragic consequences of unchecked illegal immigration, like the lives of those in slavery, many of whom are young women who are trafficked into state for sex work.
You know, secure border means combating the mass importation of illegal drugs. You may have heard of the specific case of fentanyl, a drug that is approximately 100 times more potent than morphine. Fentanyl was responsible for the death of 109,000 Americans last year, all time record. I just sincerely hope we don’t break that record this year. But we’ve not been far off.
It’s really looking bad. It’s touching a whole lot of personal people that we know and we love and we care about. The consequences of not securing our border extends to the impact of our economy, on welfare, on communities, families, the rule of law that we should uphold.
A sovereign nation has a right and responsibility to secure its borders to protect its citizens. Are you listening, Joe Biden? And will all of this and more being truth, why is the President not doing something? Why is he purposely making things worse?

Then all of a sudden they’re not so sanctuary after all.
However, conservative leaders in other states are now stepping in and doing things. Virginia Governor Glenn Younkin just announced that he is sending National Guard troops to Texas to help secure the southern border; Tennessee, Nebraska, and others are doing the same. The number of migrants encountered at the border since Biden took office has skyrocketed, and Biden has just added a ton … more gasoline on this. Because when he goes after Title 42, others have to step in and we’re thankful that these governors are saying we’ve got to secure our borders.
Many of the recent polls have an average of 57% of Americans disappointed, disapproving of what Biden has done on the issue of immigration. Securing our border is only a matter of political will. This administration deliberately overturned what Trump had put in place so that they can allow these illegals in and ignore the reality of sex trafficking and of fentanyl. Our great nation has the technology, the resources, the expertise to secure our border effectively. He knows it and we know it. But we need leaders who are willing to put the safety and well-being of American citizens first.
Those leaders are the ones that will address the root cause of illegal immigration. Not Kamala Harris; she said she was. We need leaders who really will address the root cause of illegal immigration, that will help the communities, that will help our borders, that will bolster and support those serving on the front lines. It is those leaders who will save the next 109,000 from ever getting access to fentanyl, that will catch the predators trafficking thousands of slaves into our states to be sex. We need those leaders instead of the ones who removed Title 42. We need to send a message loud and clear that our border is open to all who mean harm and during the next election, it will be stopped.
In addition to the facts, we believe it’s vital to hear perspectives from all sides of the political spectrum. We hope these different voices will help you reach your own conclusions.

Despite a decrease in the number of migrants entering the U.S. since the end of Title 42, concern over the humanitarian crisis at the Mexican border remains high. Several Republican governors are sending National Guard troops to assist Texas authorities in combating “drug and human trafficking.”

Wasteful government spending not the answer to America’s problems
A rising debate within the Republican ranks revolves around spending, as House Speaker Kevin McCarthy attempts to align his party’s different factions to prevent a government shutdown. Navigating this challenge is no easy task, thanks to the numerous special interests competing for a portion of the federal budget. Straight Arrow News contributor Star Parker sheds

Let’s hear from House Freedom Caucus in federal budget talks

Elections are about ideas, not superficial entertainment
Americans in both parties lament the era of what they call entertainment politics, where insults, gossip, and TV ads sell better than real ideas. Recent elections have seen entertainment professionals running against — and often beating — those who discuss policy solutions.
