Timing of the Left’s attacks on Justice Thomas cannot be ignored

In the past few years, there are a few institutions that have enraged the left more than the United States Supreme Court. The institution with President Taft once called the guardians of the Constitution. This hallowed group of nine men and women have handed down momentous decisions in the past year, involving guns, abortion, the environment, religion, and many other issues that the left disagree with their rulings. So the timing of recent attacks against Justice Clarence Thomas, were real interest. When the Senate Judiciary Committee, which is controlled by Democrats held a hearing this week on Supreme Court ethics reforms, oh, their agenda became just downright obvious. The left is doing its best to weaken the Supreme Court.

The chairman of the committee, Democrat Dick Durbin initially sent a letter to the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, John Roberts. In the letter, the chairman had urged Roberts to take swift action, and had invited Roberts to testify before the committee regarding Supreme Court ethics reform, Justice Roberts, not only declined the offer, he responded in a letter that stated in quote, testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee by the Chief Justice of the United States is exceedingly rare, and one might, as one might expect in light of separation of powers concerns and the importance of preserving judicial independence. And quote, That letter was signed by all nine justices, every justice from those who had been appointed by Republicans, those who have been nominated by Democrats. They agree with Robert statement and disagreed with this latest tactic by the left. But this isn’t going to stop the left. As a renewed attacks against Justice Thomas demonstrate the left is urging everyone to get involved. They’re arguing that Justice Thomas violated ethics regulations, because him and his wife had traveled on vacation with a wealthy couple that they’ve been friends with for over 25 years.

Thomas didn’t disclose this on his financials, because activities and gifts with family members and longtime personal friends have generally fallen into guidelines that you don’t have to disclose. All of a sudden, they’re important to the left. More importantly, if you’re wondering about why these allegations and this committee hearing are happening, we’ll just pay attention to the timing. This all comes at a time when Democrats are seeking to gain political advantage by attacking conservatives.

They may also be attempting to distract from many other issues that are currently under our watch, if you will, going into this election. We have a lot of things on the table that are facing this country, and the tensions will go stronger as we move closer to November 2024. Democrats are clearly not happy about the Supreme Court’s recent decisions, such as protecting the Second Amendment and the sanctity of the unborn. The first Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, John J. He once said in quote, the Supreme Court is the safeguard of our liberties and of our property. And it is important that it remains free from political influence and interference. In quote, the Justice Thomas has a long and distinguished record of service on the Supreme Court. He has demonstrated his commitment to uphold the Constitution and the rule of law time and time again.

And that is precisely why he is a target of those who wish to dismantled the founding principles of our nation, the ideals and the institutions that have made us the greatest country in the world. So we finally hope and we fervently pray that the guardians of our Constitution, our Supreme Court will continue to be steadfast and immovable against the attacks and the actions of the left.
