Biden immigration policy is hurting America
Despite a decrease in the number of migrants entering the U.S. since the end of Title 42, concern over the humanitarian crisis at the Mexican border remains high. Several Republican governors are sending National Guard troops to assist Texas authorities in combating “drug and human trafficking.” Straight Arrow News contributor Star Parker says the Biden…

Sen. Tim Scott can move America past race-based politics
Sen. Tim Scott, R-S.C., the only Black Republican in the Senate, has joined the 2024 GOP presidential campaign. Scott, who has spoken of getting pulled over by the police more than half a dozen times in one year, once said in an interview, “Racism is real.” And yet Scott characterizes America as “a land of…

We can fight healthcare inflation with cost transparency
Inflation has made everything from gas to groceries more expensive. It has also driven up the cost of healthcare for millions of Americans. But unlike the trip to the grocery store, where the prices are clearly marked, many people have no idea what a trip to the doctor’s office will cost, until after services are…

Police not getting support they need in cities led by liberals
Amidst increasing crime rates, gun violence, and widespread protests against police brutality over the past few years, police officers across the nation have faced unprecedented challenges. It is in this context that National Police Week holds particular significance, as it provides an opportunity to honor the men and women who risk their lives every day.…

Timing of the Left’s attacks on Justice Thomas cannot be ignored
The controversy surrounding Justice Clarence Thomas failing to disclose paid vacations, gifts and real estate transactions involving GOP megadonor Harlan Crow shows no signs of abating. And now a report claims the real estate developer paid thousands of dollars in boarding school tuition for Thomas’ great-nephew. Democrat lawmakers are calling for Thomas to be investigated…

Biden has no good answer to GOP’s Limit, Save, Grow Act
On April 26, the U.S. House of Representatives passed a bill that would raise the debt ceiling and cut trillions in government spending. For the GOP, the Limit, Save, Grow Act of 2023 is seen as an an opportunity to lure President Biden to the negotiating table. According to Straight Arrow News contributor Star Parker,…

Someone please tell Pete Buttigieg that roads are not racist
Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg’s $1 billion pilot program aimed at stopping what he called “racial disparity” on U.S. roads and highways earned him scorn and ridicule from Republicans. Critics say Buttigieg’s plan is a prime example of the “woke-ification” of federal policy. Straight Arrow News contributor Star Parker says it’s all part of the Democrats’…

2024 GOP primary an opportunity for Republicans to talk principles
With the 2024 GOP presidential primaries still many months away, there’s plenty of time for more candidates to join the race. Former President Donald Trump was the first to announce his candidacy, of course, and so far he’s way ahead in the polls. But Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) is expected to throw his hat…

Parental rights are the key to fixing American education
The battle to give parents more say over their children’s education has become a headlining issue in today’s political arena. In Florida, Gov. Ron DeSantis, R, signed into law the controversial “Parental Rights in Education” legislation, which critics call the “Don’t Say Gay” bill, on March 28. Advocates for school choice, which allows parents to…

Privatizing Social Security is the only way to fix it
This year, Social Security recipients are receiving their biggest monthly bump in benefits since 1983. However, the long-term future of the popular safety net program remains uncertain. President Biden’s fiscal 2024 budget calls for strengthening Social Security and rejects any calls for cutbacks. That could be wise politically, as the program is extremely popular with…

Lies from the Left permeate our education system
Debates about education policy and the proper way to teach race and gender have intensified across the country. In February, the Manhattan Institute released a study finding that a large majority of 18- to 20-year-olds said that they had heard about “at least one of eight Critical Social Justice (CSJ) concepts from a teacher or…

Biden’s unconstitutional student debt relief plan must be exposed
In keeping with his campaign promise, President Biden announced last August his student debt relief plan targeting specific borrowers with loans held by the U.S. Department of Education. While many liberals praised the plan, there’s been plenty of opposition. In November, two lawsuits succeeded in pausing the plan’s implementation and last month the Supreme Court…

DC City Council voting bill is reckless legislation
A pair of controversial bills approved by the Washington, D.C. City Council has put the district in the national spotlight and at odds with the federal government. Congress is expected to use its oversight power over city matters to override a crime bill that would reduce maximum sentences for violent crimes in D.C. The House…

San Francisco shouldn’t pay Black residents reparations for slavery
A government-appointed reparations committee in San Francisco is recommending that each eligible Black resident be awarded a one-time payment of $5 million in an effort to correct the city’s decades of racial discrimination. Conservatives say the reparations proposal — which some say would cost $50 billion — would ruin the city’s financial picture, given San…
